Smudging is known as a Native American ritual, although the smudge has been used since ancient times by many people as a purification ceremony, between Catholic and Orthodox Churches, among the Hindus and Buddhists and Native American tribes.

Smudging is a ritual to cleanse a person, place or object of negative energies, spirits or influences. It is a ritual cleansing and purification for the physical and spiritual body to remove negative energy.

Despite it's traditional uses, it can also make a nice decorative object.

*Please note that the item may vary slightly in size and details (from the image provided) since it is hand made.

On a personal note,  I grew up with an aunt that was 100% Choctaw Native American and I am honored that she passed some of her traditions on to me and I am able to incorporate them into my rituals and craft ware.
